PRO WATERCROSS IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE NEW DIVISION OF STAND-UP PADDLEBOARD (SUP) CLOSED COURSE RACING
Pro Watercross is excited to announce the newly conceived division of Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Closed Course Racing, introduced as SUPcross. With doing so, we are proud to announce Evan Young as the Managing Director of Pro Watercross’ newly developed SUPcross division.
Stand-up Paddleboard (SUP) racing is typically done on a long course, most commonly occurring on rivers or along the shoreline of lakes and ocean waters. SUPcross uses the same closed course race track that is used in watercross (aka jet ski racing). SUPcross offers the most dynamic setting found on flat water. It bridges the extensive gap between standard “straight-line” SUP races, and the more extreme elements of whitewater SUP racing; which will eliminate any unforeseen hazards, and establish a safe, contained environment within a closed course race track. SUPcross will be more exciting for spectators and fans bringing them closer to the action.
Evan Young graduated from Marshall University in 2008 with a B.A. in Psychology & Minor in Communications, and is the founder, owner, and lead instructor of Appalachian Boarding Company. Evan is the current State Director of the American Canoe Association in West Virginia and is an active member of the Putnam Wellness Coalition. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Putnam Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, on the Race Committee for the Capital City Challenge, and as a council member for the Rivers to Ridges Heritage Trail.
