PRO WATERCROSS REC TOUR IS GOING NATIONWIDE

With the excitement generated by last week’s announcement of the 2019 National Recreational Tour, Pro Watercross is pleased to announce that the National Recreational Tour will now stretch from coast to coast with a West Coast National Recreational Tour.

“Our recent announcement about the Recreational Tour, with events scattered across the eastern half of the nation, has generated a lot of energy and buzz” Jennifer Handler revealed. It’s the perfect time to build off of that enthusiasm and announce that the West Coast Watercraft Club (WCWCC) will be hosting five recreational events on the west coast.

The new endeavor in the growing family of Pro Watercross events, the Recreational Tours will focus on enthusiasts - a calculated move to grow the sport by creating events that will attract both personal watercraft enthusiasts and athletes. The 2019 West Coast Recreational Tour is in the final planning stages, adding five events in a separate tour on the western side of the country - complimenting the seven events on the east.

Lewis Lipstone and Steven Reyes, event organizers for the West Coast Rec Tour, are finalizing dates and details for each of the events, but the planned schedule includes endurance rides, scenic rides and even a week-long joint PWC and houseboat adventure.  As with the eastern events, the West Coast Rec Tour will be centered around fun events that are each expected to draw several hundred participants. Many of the events will be family-friendly.

“No matter how you look at it, that type of exposure, that level of involvement in Pro Watercross activities of any sort, can do nothing but benefit the sport as a whole, bringing the PWC community together” Handler said. “The more people are talking about and enjoying these activities, the better for all of us. These Rec Tour stops give even the most competitive athlete a chance to just get out and have some relaxing fun on the water.”

The 2019 West Coast Recreational Tour will start off with the Ironman Run, Race against Time on March 9 in Chula Vista, CA. Heading east, the next stop on the tour will be the Pirate Cove Colorado River Camping, 4x4 and PWC Weekend on April 19-20 in Needles, CA. Third event - Down in the Delta Camping at Orwood, will take place on May 16-19 in Brentwood, CA. The next tour stop of the 2019 tour will be a week-long PWC adventure on Lake Powell in mid-September. Closing out the inaugural season of the West Coast Rec Tour will be the Ultimate Ride in the beginning of October on Lake Havasu and the Colorado River.
